Welcome to Year 3
Miss Armstrong
Welcome to the Year 3 class page. Here you can find all of the information you need for this year. Year 3 is very important as the children transition from the infants to the juniors.
Please ensure your child is in school and on time every day. If your child is sick, please contact the school office to report them absent.
PE
This term, PE is on Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child has their full school PE kit in a bag labelled with their name for the half term. PE kits will be sent home at the end of each half term. PE kit consists of: light blue top, black or navy shorts and black PE pumps or trainers.
Reading
Every child has a home reading book bag. Children will take home their reading book on a Monday and it should be returned by Thursday in order to be changed for the following week. Please ensure the green record book has a comment signed by a parent/carer.
Times Tables
Please encourage children to practice their times tables at home, particularly 2x, 5x, 10x, 3x, 4x and 8x tables.
Homework
Children have access to the class homework menu here on the class webpage. Homework menus are updated every term and link to our current learning in the classroom.

Attendance
It is extremely important that your child attends school every day unless they are too sick to come in. If your child is going to be absent, please ring the school to let us know.
Punctuality
Please make sure that your child arrives at school on time (8.45-9.00 am).
Uniform
Please ensure your child has the correct uniform and has their name in everything including their coat and P.E Kit. Children should have black school shoes, no trainers.
PE
Children should have their full PE kit in school in a bag labelled with their name. PE kit consists of: a light blue top, black or navy shorts and black pumps. PE will be on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Reading Books
Please read with your child for a short period each night, encouraging them to sound out unfamiliar words and read with fluency and expression. Please make a comment in your child’s reading record and return this with the reading book ready to be changed on Thursdays.
Water
Children are encouraged to bring water to drink in the classroom. Please provide your child with a refillable, reusable bottle. This will reduce the amount of plastic waste in our environment. Children can only have water in class.
Inhalers/Prescribed Medicine
If your child needs an inhaler, could you please send it in with a name label and instructions on when to take it. All parents must sign a medical consent form in the main Reception to authorise any medicines to be administered by staff.
