Spellings
Your child will receive their new spellings every Monday and will be tested every Friday morning. Children do get opportunities to practice their spellings throughout the week. However, children should be encouraged to practice frequently at home.

Reading
Reading is the gateway to all other learning. Reading at home is so important and can be vital to your childs development and education.
Please encourage your child to read to you and comment in their reading record but also share stories with your child and read to them.
Also, use reading eggs or reading eggspress at home if you can - if you need new login details, please contact Mrs Harkin.

Timestables
This year your children will take a government timestables test. Learning their timestables will help in lots of other areas in their maths education. Please encourage your child to try to learn the tables up to x12.
Little and often tends to work best and try to keep it fun.
